Works form the series “Klangassoziationen” and “Tone Element”.
As of 1995/96, Yamanobe began to explore the artistic possibilities of painting of musical phenomena. He searched for visual expressions to complement the complex processes of sound perception.
A finely nuanced interaction of form and background – produced by contrasts and toning down, layering and smearing – lends the surface the appearance of a vibrating resonant membrane in which chords reverberate and sounds disappear, echoing indistinctly and fading into uncertainty. This tentative artistic exploration of sensuous experience always remains somewhere between the passive and active creation of forms, trying to find a direct expression of the contemplative side in man.
